Delivery Specialist - Wichita, KS / Kansas City, KS

R.K. Black, Inc., an Oklahoma City-based office technology company providing solutions to businesses throughout Oklahoma and Kansas, is seeking a Delivery Specialist to serve from our Wichita / Kansas City locations.

This position includes equipment delivery primarily within the Wichita, Kansas and Kansas City, Kansas markets. Occasional overnight travel may be required during the initial training period (first 60-90 days). Following the completion of training, occasional overnight travel to Kansas City may be necessary.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with” heart and hustle” to join our Delivery Team! As a Delivery Specialist, you'll be the first face our clients see after a sale. Your job is to deliver equipment safely and on time, handle minor assembly, check operations, and set up networks at client offices. You'll be a key part of our Warehouse Support Team, where we aim to impress clients with accuracy, efficiency, and a friendly approach. If this sounds like the job for you, keep reading!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent  
  • Two years’ job related driving experience, experience driving box trucks a plus
  • CDL is not required, but is a plus
  • Two years’ customer service experience
  • On the job use of computer and software, knowledge of basic networking
  • Possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License with clear driving record, at least 21 years of age

The Job

  • Ensure safe and timely delivery of equipment to clients, assists in set-up of equipment, coordinating with IT,networking staff and sales team
  • Follow established safety procedures for loading and unloading equipment
  • Perform operational checks and assists with entering basic networking settings
  • Follow all DOT regulations and procedures and maintains all required DOT paperwork.
  • Strictly follow all safety procedures; every day, every stop, every time.
  • Unbox, tag, group, and stage equipment by sales order for set up
  • Operate company equipment in a safe and responsible manner (includes forklift, stair climber, dollies & vehicles)
  • Assist with miscellaneous warehouse duties including receiving & unboxing equipment; equipment pre-install set-up
  • Contact clients via phone & email for meter readings
  • Other projects as reasonably assigned by management

Qualities Required

  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, able to work under moderate pressure
  • Technically inclined, basic knowledge of networking and IT, capable of quickly learning technical information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Possess good interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with all levels of associates and clients
  • Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • High attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Able to pass required DOT physical
  • Able to stand and move freely and sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift heavy objects from floor to over waist height (up to 50 pounds)
  • Able to bend, twist, stoop, lift and carry objects weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work and drive in a variety of weather conditions in the warehouse & loading dock, including driving a company vehicle in a variety of weather conditions
